Matthew McConaughey Wedding PhotoChristopher Polk/Getty

When it came to finding the perfect wedding gown, Camila Alves McConaughey knew exactly where to turn. Chanel? Nah. Vera Wang or Monique Lhuillier? Nope.

Instead, the bride asked Brazilian dress designer Ducarmo Castelo Branco, a 78-year-old family friend, to craft a gown for her June 9 nuptials to Matthew McConaughey.

“Ducarmo has been making wedding dresses for her entire life,” says Alves, who has known the designer since she was a young girl growing up in Brazil. “I guess you can say she has been planning this design for over 20 years.”

Branco worked on the project with a group of eight local women, and Alves’s faith in that team’s vision of a dream dress — a delicate beaded lace gown — never wavered. “I went to Brazil for a day and a half to work on the dress,” the bride tells PEOPLE. “I left and I just had to trust them. They finished the dress 22 days later.”

Wondering how much your favorite models made last year? You’re in luck, becauseForbes just published its list of the ten highest paid models in the world. How high is high? Well, their combined income is just under $100 million. Not so shabby for donning some wings a few times a year. (Joking! We know how hard it is to be a model. Just watch this.)

While the number one spot isn’t a huge surprise, there are definitely a few curve balls in there. For example, Kate Moss is number two, but earned $35 million LESS than the top girl. Whoa. Forbes also points out that Heidi Klum didn’t make the list this year, despite making $20 million, because she’s officially graduated from model to mogul. And the majority are Angels, proving that being curvy and a bit commercial can pay off big-time.

The whole thing is definitely worth a read.

He is in Singapore to promote the Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship.(ST/KEVIN LIM)The battle for Europe's top football prize looks set to be waged between Spain and Germany. And at the moment, Jose Mourinho's pick to win Euro 2012 is Spain, even though he has not entirely ruled out his native Portugal.

'Spain are the world champions and no doubts about that,' said the coach of Spain's top club Real Madrid.

'They are one of the best teams at the Euros, but they have to compete with Germany to be champions again.'

The 49-year-old arrived in town on Thursday to promote the Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship, which helps promising young athletes with financial constraints.

He spoke to reporters for only 10 minutes at the 1-Altitude Bar at Raffles Place, and key issues such as compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo's current struggles with Portugal were not addressed.

But the tactician did show glimpses of his famous wit, which has entertained fans and reporters alike in the past.

He could not resist a dig at Real's arch-rivals Barcelona, whom his team pipped to Spain's La Liga crown this season.

'Barcelona were the champions of Spain, and I repeat, were the champions,' he told the 40-strong media scrum, who laughed and applauded.

One reporter got more than he bargained for when he asked if opponents have found a way to stifle the free-flowing 'tiki-taka' playing style established by Barca and adopted by Spain, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Italy in their Euro 2012 opener.

The question was met with a ferocious volley from the self-anointed 'Special One'.

Mourinho, the first and only manager to win titles in Europe's traditional three big leagues - England, Italy and Spain, said:

'I don't know. You speak about Spain and Barca, but the national team of Spain has five Madrid players. They're completely separate things.'

He was less caustic when talking to youth footballer Illyas Lee, 17, who was a recipient of the scholarship last year.

When asked by the Singapore Polytechnic student on the benefits he has gleaned from the sport, the former manager of English Premier League club Chelsea replied:

'Football is a collective sport. It helps you understand cooperation, solidarity, giving your best for a common aim.

'Football can help to make better people.'

It also made Mourinho a legend in Spain too, after Real ended Barca's three-year La Liga title reign in record fashion.

On the way, his side became the first to hit 100 points in a single season, to score 121 goals and win 32 out of their 38 games.

But Mourinho's philosophy when it comes to the beautiful game is simple.

'Football is about goals. Make the fans come back by scoring a lot of goals,' said the 2010 Fifa World Coach of the Year, who is one of only three managers to have won the Champions League with two different clubs, Portugal's Porto (2004) and Italy's Inter Milan (2010).

'I prefer a 5-5 draw to 0-0 but as a coach, I can find good things even in a scoreless match.'

The goals have flowed again for his native Portugal in Euro 2012 after a slow start.

Mourinho is optimistic about his country's chances, after they bounced back from a 0-1 defeat by Germany to overcome Denmark 3-2 on Thursday.

He said: 'Now they don't depend on other teams, they depend only on themselves.

'So if they can do a job against Netherlands, Portugal are in the quarter-finals.

'Then, if Portugal reach the quarter-finals, with knockout in 90 minutes and sometimes extra time and penalties, anything can happen.'

Shanti Clark, owner of Very Best Vintage

What are your favorite spots to score great vintage finds?
"After being in the vintage business for so many years, I’ve found that the really great stuff sort of finds me, rather than the other way around. My store, Very Best Vintage, offers consignment, buys, and trades, which brings in a lot of stellar items, often unique and in great condition. That said, I still love shopping for myself at other vintage stores. You just never know what you’ll find! One tip I would absolutely offer to vintage newbies is that they should subscribe to EstateSales.net. It’s an invaluable resource because items in the best condition are always the gems stowed away in a closet for a few (possibly several) decades."

What are your personal vintage shopping guidelines?
"It’s easy to get caught up in the moment. When I shop for myself, I try to only buy things that are comfortable and fit well. They’re simple rules, but it’s deceptively easy to be tempted to break them because of a beautiful fabric or something that almost fits...if only the entire dress were reconstructed. Small alterations are worth it if you love the garment, but you have to be realistic or you’ll end up with a pile of clothes for the tailor and nothing to actually wear.

A personal fashion rule that I follow pretty closely (in vintage and shopping in general) is to buy timeless pieces that don’t drastically change the body silhouette. I’m talking about shoulder pads and harem pants here. They can be fun and trendy, but are unlikely to be a solid wardrobe investment. I also always stay true to the things I know I love and will always wear. For example, I adore 1960s nighties. I think they’re really fun and sexy, and have a big collection at home. A lot of my regular customers already know about my preoccupation with vintage sleepwear because there’s always a substantial collection at the store."

Any words of advice for those new to vintage shopping? "If you see something you love, buy it! You’ll almost certainly never find it again. I’d also remind everyone buying vintage that many of these pieces are at least 20- years-old. You’ll likely find a flaw if you look hard enough. Seams will come undone, buttons will fall off, but the maintenance on a vintage garment is absolutely worth it because you have the privilege of wearing–and showing off–a unique and amazing piece of history."

Tell us about your favorite vintage shopping experience.
"I saw this perfect tiny champagne bucket charm with a tiny bottle emerging from a tiny mountain of jeweled ice. It was so charming and perfect and I really wanted to wear it as a necklace pendant. I was weeks away from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan, so I chose to save my cash for the trip and forget about the charm. Because of the collectability (and because it was perfect!), some other lucky charm collector scooped it up after I passed on it before my trip. The trip was amazing, but lo and behold, months go by and I was still thinking about the champagne charm. It took me five years, but I eventually found that particular charm for sale and I bought it immediately! It’s still one of my favorite pieces and was absolutely worth the chase."

Best Bet: Natori Bengal Beach Towel

One of the best parts of summer is hitting the beach. Rather than bringing along a cumbersome chair, pack this plush and oversize towel by Natori. Made from 100 percent cotton, it's soft to the touch and can withstand the stress of multiple machine washings. And with an eye-catching graphic print, it'll be impossible to lose track of your spot on the sand.

Natori Bengal Beach Towel, $30 at Natori.

Last week’s unseasonably cool temperatures reminded us that it’s always the right time to be on the lookout for a lightweight leather jacket, even if it’s June. No matter what the weather, a sleek motorcycle jacket proves to be the perfect topper, and model-off-duty Daphne Groeneveld further proves this point. From Sandro to Rebecca Minkoff, we’ve picked four of our favorites to set your sights on, and with their under $1,000 price tags, your hands on, too.

From top left to right: Rebecca Minkoff jacket, $698, available atwww.rebeccaminkoff.com; Sandro Veinarde jacket, $577, available at www.us.sandro-paris.com; Monika Chiang moto jacket, $845, similar styles available atwww.monikachiang.com; Club Monaco Christy moto jacket, $595, available atwww.clubmonaco.com.

The Brogue will be on display at Nicholas James’s Hatton Garden showroom and has a retail price of £25,000. All parts were supplied by Ison Distribution, ison-distribution.co.uk

Say hello to The Brogue, the result of a collaboration between jeweller Nicholas Fitch, of Nicholas James, and leather designer Simon Harcourt — and  it’s so much more than just a way to get from A to B.

The idea for the diamond-encrusted, fine-leather upholstered vintage cycle came about when Fitch was collaborating with Harcourt on some jewellery boxes and saw a beautiful old bicycle hanging on the wall of his Highgate studio. Fitch told Harcourt: “You’ve got to do something with this, it’s amazing,” and Simon agreed.

Fixed-gear freestyle rider Chris Delia worked on the design and fitting of the bike and it was made at Highgate and Nicholas James’s workshops in Hatton Garden over eight weeks. “It’s a dandy’s bike,” says Fitch. “Not for rushing around on.

“There was even discussion of including a pipe-holder. Everything had to be finished to the highest quality. We are perfectionists and it is very refined.”

We take a closer look at London’s most luxe bike.

Brogue Leather Saddlebag

This bag is removable and fixes to the saddle with two straps. It is big enough to fit essential bicycle maintenance tools at 170mm wide and 90mm in diameter. The leather is the same Italian Ed Tanner Saddle leather as on the bike and it is hand-stitched with a laser-made brogue pattern. Fitch recast traditional Conway buckles, used in horse saddles, in sterling silver.

Heavyweight brakes

Dia-Compe BRS 202 brakes are deeper than normal road ones, at 57-75mm. They cost £26.99 each and weigh 200g.

Diamond-encrusted handlebars

The stops are cast in sterling silver and finished with a rim of chocolate-brown diamonds, to complement the vegetable-tanned leather. Brown diamonds have become popular “in the last seven years”. They have to be carefully selected so they aren’t too muddy or dark and are the right size for the handlebars.

Gears ahead

Five-speed Sturmey-Archer gears cost £129.99. In order to work they are supported by a metal hub, also by Sturmey-Archer, £29.99

Vintage frame

Simon Harcourt found the vintage 1970s Triumph frame with Reynolds 531 alloy steel tubing at an antiques sale and says he doesn’t remember how much it cost. He covered it with 1mm thick Italian Ed Tanner Saddle leather in tan that he sourced to match the classic Brooks saddle. Supple and light, this immensely tactile, fine leather gets better with age. It is handstitched but the brogue pattern was cut with a laser so it would look neat and uniform. Harcourt Designs developed this laser technique while working on chair designs for Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant, Dinner.

Lightweight chain

Chris Delia chose a Gusset Expresso chain, which is superlight and very strong. Lightweight link plates and straight plates give maximum stretch. Weight 255g. £32.99.

Wheels for speed

Tyres by Halo Twin Rail Courier, £22.99 each. Not too thin, they are ideal for riding around cities. They weigh 395g. The lightweight Halo retro wheel rims are £39.99 each. They are inspired by European wheel rims from the Seventies and Eighties but are made using modern materials to make them lightweight and good for racing.
