Mayor of Marbella boosts expat registration campaign

THE Mayor of Marbella has asked for help from expats to boost the town’s new census registration campaign. Estimates suggest there are more than 200,000 permanent residents in Marbella, but only 145,000 people are registered. Funds for town councils are calculated based on the number of inhabitants, which is why the campaign is so important for the town. Mayor Angeles Munoz hopes to add another 5,000 expats to the padron, to push Marbella into the highest possible bracket for allocated funds.
